*whew* Ok, ok so 'bout 2 weeks late but hey its still news.

Anyway like the title says I'm free! Of what you may ask...
Free of University Classes! They officially ended on Thurs April 30th And my last project was handed in on that day. I should be getting my marks later this month. And so far things are looking FANTASTIC! yeah I dropped the 'F-bomb' (inside joke ;P)

So that's one of the big "FREE" notices and now for the second one!

It was Free Comic Book Day on May 2nd! Hells yeah! I spent all morning hanging out Happy Harbor Vol 3 scooping up free swag and chatting with true comic artists (got some good tips and tricks) and watched the E-Ville Roller Derby Girls lots of fun. Even thou my fiend bailed on me, ok so she sounded like death! I'll let it slide.

So the reason this was late... <.< >.> I took a week off to recoup from 2 months straight uni work. I know I'm a bad dragon. HAHA! At least I got some solid time to play games and doodle. really therapeutic ^^

Now if you excuse me I have to go and get all caught up with some bidness, which will be explained in a later post.

Just a quick one right now I kinda want to get some thoughts down.

But yeah recently I've been feeling really depressed... and I can't really figure out why.
My buddy Darby (DCJ) said it's was because I'm overworked. I'm starting to think hes right, I've been going non stop on projects for a over a month. I haven't even had time to draw anything.

Whoa ok no! I'm not going to mention my lack of drawing I think that's also one of the problems.

*sigh* If I feel like it I'll expand but right now this draggy's got to bottle some stuff up inside...

And does it ever! I finally finished my Flash Final on Tues night after debugging and final testing. It was actually supposed to be due on Mon but Jim bumped it up two days so it gave me time to polish it up a bit more. But wow did it ever take a long time! If anyone ever says animation is easy knock'em upside the head! Cause it took me a month to animate and mine was only 1:30 min. And that was after cutting back the script and scenes and quality by almost half!

Overall I'm kinda disappointed with it, I just wish I was quicker (or better at drawing, NO ,NO SELF LOATHING new line begin anew!) so that it looked a little more styled and not so... well cheap...

I'm just glad its done... still there was that one sound error I couldn't fix, ok its not that big of one but the nagging felling that its still there just frosts my tail.

Anyway I don't think I ever mentioned what my final was! It is a short animation dealing with me, my scalie buddies and some dancin' tofu.. ok I didn't get the dancin' tofu animated in time but hell that's what "Beta" versions are for right?

I haven't posted it anywhere yet mostly because I haven't really shown my face anywhere else yet... I'm still MIA on Da, FA and VCL but at least I'm back talking to my friends via Steam / MSN.
On the bright side I've setup shop on a few other sites and will be returning to my stomping grounds shortly. But that info calls for another post maybe tomorrow.

Ooook slight tangent there. All that matters is 1 major headache down and only 3 to go!

As the title says I'm back after... a very long drought well more like a death.
this feels so weird to be back I, I don't know how to start.

I really wanted to make my return on my birthday (hatchday?) on the 27th but I got shanghaied by my friends after class / work and was treated to one of the best nights I have had in a very long time.

And I eternally thank them for it, it was kinda the final push I needed to get my life back online. More specifically it was the gift that my friend Chelsy gave me (a fan fuggin-tastic drawing, seriously! it kicks tail!) and something my friend Nicole said that really did it.
I guess they were sifting through my galleries (how they found it ??) for references and they happened to mention that my friends missed me...
Now I know that I've been complete jack ass by just disappearing and not letting my friends know what happened to me for over a year and I feel like I've let them down, and it really hurt me...
I really do care for my friends but I guess I wasn't ready to share what had happened to me last year.

I guess I just want to apologize for not returning the friendship that you guys have given me.
to everyone. I'm very truly sorry and I hope I can make it up to you guys somehow.

And it also looks like my best friend Saruuk found me on Steam ^^ oops sorry for not letting you know Sar :P

And now that things are stable (hectic but stable) I'm going to be here permanently, later tonight I'll be signing back into all my old accounts like DA FA, VCL and my MSN.

It feels good to be back ^^

I can't believe what happned today, its so good that I tempted classify it as the best day of the year so far! ^^
Ok, ok enough of that now this is what happened...

I was at work today regular Saturday shift 12 - 7, it started out pretty normal and then at about 5 pm, aw man I still can't believe this, but yeah at 5pm this guy walks in and I think 'hmmm he looks familiar' well.... he was familiar, this guys was...

TOMMY TALLARICO!

Yeah that's right Tommy Tallarico one of the kings of Video Game Music just walks into the store with his friend. It was great! We talked for about 20 min about V.G.L. thats tomorrow (I'm so cheesed that I couldn't get tickets for it this year, I did go last year thou) which explains why he's in town. I loved it we talked about what was debuting at the concert and he loved looking around the store and you know enjoying himself.
I was the only one who recognized him! My bud / co-worker Dan didn't even know him!

but *whew* I'm still phazed that he came in! I'm totally going to expand on this later, right now supper ^^

Well it was one of those days...
You know the ones where you have a S#!^ load of things to do but you end up getting sidetracked and just playing an old game for like 6 hours for no reason just because one of the games songs popped up randomly on your Winamp playlist.

o.O Yeah...... that's what happened to me on this fine day.
The culprit / song this time, yes there have been other times but anyway, the culprit / song was "Sonic the Hedgehog & Knuckles - Doomsday Zone".

So instead of:
contacting my friends about outstanding art trades, calling the NAIT registrar about the SNAFU with my application, updating the comics newspost / fixing the forums, drawing next weeks comic, and cleaning out my DA inbox
I spent 6 1/2 hours playing Sonic 3 & Knuckles (Sonic Mega collection version). I dare anyone to find a worse way to waste a day.
Normally I would have classified this as a total loss but I did complete the game 100%. That's right I got all 14 Chaos Emeralds and beat Dr. Robotnik in Doomsday Zone. Not just once but with Sonic, Tails, Knuckles Solo and Sonic + Tails.

*Whew!* sooooo.... that's how I spent my day and now I'm paying for it at 11:00 pm because now I have to make a mad rush to get some of this S#!^ done before tomorrow! Well except the NAIT Registrar SNAFU, that I just have to pester them and hope my application gets in before the program fills up. I swear if the F!$% me over with this I will kill them or at least someone!

I guess I could also bring up the point as to why I'm wasting precious time writing and spell-checking this 'rant'. Short answer it's making me feel better ^^. Long answer... No time to explain.

Ok now that I'm officially back online and NOT! dead. Its time to set the story straight and get on a regular schedule as well as explain my long, long loooooonnnnnnnggggg absence...
So as I started to explain last week in the comic's news post (if you missed it fore shame!) I will now expand on it.


I know that I did just up disappear pretty much abandon everything. It’s not like I meant for any of this to happen, but then again when do you ever expect anything in life to happen.
*sigh* The last few months have been full of well... ups, downs and few swift kicks to the groin. At least I got through it without losing my mind. At least I think I did...

Either way settle in, this ones gonna take a while:

1. It seems so weird, well more depressing, to be saying this but... My dog, a golden retriever, ‘Dash’ of 12 yeas died in Dec. This traumatized me the most and I pretty much lost all will to do anything. Sitting in a dark room for 4 days was how I spent the week following that day.
I really did think I could handle something like that, heh... shows what I know.
It's been 2 months and I'd say more but... no, I just can't do it.
So if my friends would kindly not bring it up I would greatly appreciate it.

2. Not only did the death of my dog happen right before X-mas but it also happened 2 days before my big client project presentation! The one I my group and I had been working on for 3 months! I swear I almost lost it! Thankfully I didn't loose it and well, got through it unscathed which brings me too the lighter side.

3. It took 2 1/2 long years but I did it! I have graduated from NAIT’s CST program! Making me a certified and qualified computer programmer / technician and therefore a bigger nerd most people out there. It's an amazing feeling to accomplish something like this! I'm just so pleased with myself I wish I could say more on the topic but I don't want to sound like a cocky bastard (like one of my group members that I couldn't stand) but hey that’s all folks!

4. I finally got my bearings and finished up A LOT of things to do with my life. This includes my career, the comic and everything! Still no time to rest. Heh I have been on the run since Jan 15th but that is for another entry.

5. I am fully aware that I have probably pissed off a lot of people that I owe art to So just to say it now I WILL HONOUR ALL OUTSTANDING TRADES + REQUESTS! *whew* that feels good, now just to contact everyone and let them know.

So there you have it! There is a ton more I want to say but that will do it for now. I still have a full list of things to do and it’s nearing 12:30 pm.

Mood: busy

I really hate to do this… but I have to. Its just that ugh, what really makes this difficult is that I have been so silent but now I make a reappearance just to share bad news is *sigh* I have never had to deal with something like this. I don’t know any other way.

As of 9:00 pm tonight my dog, Dash, a loving and very kind dog...
had a sever seizure, she recovered , thank the goddess! But it has really shaken me up I feel totally phased, exposed and just not myself! I... I, I don’t know how I should feel its come at such a busy and important time in my life. I don’t want her to leave!

We took her to the emergency vets and she seemed ok but we left here overnight, I didn’t want to but it was the best choice, they could help her if it happened again.. I just really hope she’s ok. I want her to be ok with all my heart please be ok Dash!

I could babble on about what happened loosing my mind but I don’t want to. Hell I don’t want remember it. It was horrible.

I just hope Dash is ok, if IT does happen I don’t know if I’d be able to present my final project. I would have to and *sigh*

I think I may just loose it all together! I need some sleep. Please be ok Dash, I love you...

Mood: worried

It showed up at my front door just yesterday and I was ecstatic!

Of course I am referring to one of my major CD orders from YesAsia. It contained a whopping 21 cd's! Of all pure rocking video game music! (ok so 9 were my bros cd's but still)
But the pride and joy of this little order was...

"The complete Metal Slug sound box"!

Thats right 8 cd's with all the music from all 7 games and a bonus cd! That is how much of a Metal Slug fan I am ^^
*Whew* and also in the order was the Viewtiful Joe 1 & 2 soundtrack and the Killer 7 soundtrack (a dual one ohh!)
Picts of this joyous occasion will follow along with the Animethon ones as well. I just need to get my cameras SD card downloaded and cleared off.
But yest that was the h big pre-uni surprise! Well actually there is one more that will hopefully be done by Monday.

thats all for now considering I have to get up early to open the store tomorrow, Justin really needs to stop relying on me to do that ;)

Listening too...: EarthWorm Jim - Vs. Psycrow

After a long hard and fun convention I’m back after a few days recuperation (ok more like a week, things got busy ^^). This year Animethon was one of the best ones I have ever been too. Before I get into details heres a short recap.

- I didn’t find the games soundtracks I wanted but the other swag I picked up more than makes up for it ^^
- The outfits / cosplayers were amazing this year, lots of variety and very well made costumes. And my ‘Marco Rossi’ outfit was very well received, I was recognized and asked to pose for pictures WHEE!
- The Cosplay chess was by far the most enteraining, not just because I participated in it but becsuse I was a hit! due to a little accident while mock batteling Red 13 ^^ (this is the best part of the con and I shall spare no details about it ^^)

Yes now on to the details, on Friday I went in about noon to get my pass and make sure my weapons were safety bonded and good for the con. They weren’t so I had to do some serious deconstruction and rebuilding. In the end I got the ok and security really appreciated what I went through and thanked me for it ^^ (a very nice gesture)

Saturday was the main even that’s when everything was going on. I managed to drag along 2 of my friends to the con, Nicole got dressed up and loved the whole con ^^. Phil on the other hand was a real downer. But we mostly wandered around taking pictures and posing I got recognized many times (talk about an Ego Boost!) We also hit the Artists Alley and one or two of the movie showings. Most of the anime I wasn’t really interested in seeing, I missed Full Metal Alchemist so that was a total bummer. But wait there was also Cosplay Chess! For those of you looking for the guy dressed as Marco Rossi, look no further that guy was me! Picture will follow later

Which I think was the best part of the whole con. I took part in it as well as Nicole, she unfortunately got to be a pawn I on the other hand was a rook! I’ll skip the beginning since it was plagued with a few problems. At first I didn’t see much action but everyone else had a great time. After I got out of the corner I started to kick ass! The epitome was the fight between Red 13 and I. At first we started out doing some fake hits and I used my gun as a club (to be fair and make it interesting). But on one hit he took a swing and I took a swing we connected (lightly) but my gun ended up breaking right in half! Completely by accident but the but went flying and everyone loved it! I was so stunned but ended up whipping out the little pistol I had and kept up with the fight. I got so many cheers it was amazing! After the whole ordeal I was congratulated by almost everyone I met. They loved my performance! Talk about being the underdog. I wasn’t dressed as some popular easily recognizable character and I ended up being a hit! *whew* anyway it was amazing you really had to be there to experience it.

Now on Sunday it was a little tamer, many of events had ended and my other friends (who were going to come) had to bail on e so I was alone for the day. Which I didn’t mind since that’s when I hit the dealers rooms for some swag ^^ I spent most of the day down there and the remainder of it posing for and taking pictures. Some people recognized me from Cosplay chess so I chatted with lots of them, it was a great day!

Now for the swag report with pictures to follow. Not much that I wanted but a few things did tickle my fancy which I did pick up. One was a wooden dagger, a set of all 7 dragon balls , and Dragonball museum figure of Goku riding a reptile. Have I mentioned I love Akira Toriyama’s work ^^

Picture will follow shortly after I get them all off the camera, yeah I know I’m lazy and behind in doing that. Also a few other pictures will show up as well.
Overall, this had to be the best Animethon I have been too. I can’t wait to see what next year will be like.

*Whew* Now THAT was allot of writing. Now for some well deserved sleep after all I do have uni registration in the morning.
